    About the Department

              The Department of Food Science and Nutrition has had the age on par with the history of institution from 1996 onwards. The department is offered by the institution with the noble vision of generating scholars from rural womenfolk in Nutrition and Dietetics field. Accordingly, they can render service to the rural human community so as to meet the challenges of Food processing and Health care scenario. The department offers a three year B.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition course that provides a wide opportunity of placements as dieticians in hospitals and diet counselors in various other organizations.

    • Department Library has been an add-on service along with General Digital Library offered by the institution for instant and easy access of respective texts, study materials, reference books, Question bank, previous years university question papers. Hence, the department library amply fulfills the teaching and learning requirements of faculty and students.
    • Laboratory – the department has Students’ laboratory to carry out experiments on thrust areas such as Food processing, Therapeutic nutrition, Community nutrition, etc
    • Department Intercom enables for feasible communication with other departments and prime spots of college premises.

    ‘BIONUTECH’ is the academic association of the department organises various activities such as Guest lectures, Seminars, Paper presentations, Workshops, Conferences, etc, as means of elongating versatility and knowledge of staff and students.
